Since its beginnings in the 1980s, approaches to intercultural philosophizing aimed at reflecting philosophical problems in our globalized world with the involvement and equal participation of traditions of thoughts from all regions of the world. In the course of criticizing the hegemonic position of Euro-American philosophy and establishing its own methods, concepts and models of intercultural thinking, intercultural philosophy has now established itself as a global paradigm of philosophizing. As such, intercultural philosophy is not only committed to the claim of epistemic justice for approaches that have so far largely been excluded from philosophical discourse, but it is also able to fertilize and re-accentuate debates on the fundamental questions of philosophy. The Intercultural Philosophy series, commissioned by the Society for Intercultural Philosophy (GIP), takes this development into account, and offers a platform for relevant current research contributions. Interculturality is not only understood as a thematically determined philosophical research area, but also as a methodical approach that can be considered in all areas of philosophy - from theoretical philosophy through practical philosophy to aesthetics and cultural philosophy. The series also considers approaches from the adjacent areas of transcultural philosophy, comparative philosophy, cross-cultural philosophy, and post-colonial studies.
